Own One of These Rare, Valuable
and Hard to Obtain Classic Fine Art Editions! Investment-Quality Condition Certified by The Greenwich Workshop Now through July 31 Only! |
| Once a year, The Greenwich Workshop opens its private collection of Artist Proofs and Rare Fine Art Editions to collectors. These editions have stood the test of time for value and desirability. Many are regarded as the watermark releases of an artist’s career. Most have traded beyond their release price, even in the heart of the economic downturn. Some have not been seen in the market at all for years. There has never been a more opportune time to acquire the best of the best! View the selections in the Publisher’s Vault by clicking on one of these three tags: View by Artist, View Entire Collection or Gems. Click on the thumbnail or “Details” tab to view the image larger. “Gems” are highlights of the collection. View “Collection by Artist” allows you to quickly see what is available from your favorite artist. “View the Entire Collection” allow you to find nuggets you might not have even known existed. You’ll have the option of changing your sort on every page. |

First Come, First Served: Contact Your Authorized Dealer! The Publisher’s Vault is only open once yearly and many of these editions will disappear quickly, so you must act when you see an edition you want. Contact Your Authorized by phone or by clicking on the “Vault Request” tab on the details page (you will have to enter your Authorized Dealer). They will be notified immediately of your interest. If you are not registered or do not have a dealer, you'll be prompted to select one. The Greenwich Workshop is committed to establishing long-term client and gallery relationships and we do not sell artwork directly to collectors. What makes these editions so valuable? Rarity and Demand. These editions here are recognized as watermark releases, long since Sold Out at the Publisher. Coming from our private collection you are assured of their pristine condition. Over time, these editions have shown continued collector demand on the secondary market, some trading now for 30 years! Artist Proofs began in the days of offset lithography. Then, the first prints off the press were the sharpest and therefore the most desirable (because the press plates would wear over the course of the run). These proofs were often given to the artist as payment for signing the lithographs and became a subset of each print run, available only to the artist and publisher. Artist Proofs are valuable for a number of reasons. Firstly, their rarity as a subset of a given edition immediately increases their value. Their place as part of an artist or publisher's private collection also increases their desirability. Additionally, because they are sold separately from the bulk of an edition, they may be available even when an edition is technically sold out. Finally, when an edition is sold out and secondary-market value is realized, Artist Proof market value could rise at a much greater rate than the rest of the edition. |
