This is Tarangire, a national park and preserve in Tanzania that I love so much that its name is like poetry to me. It’s a cloudless, hot, scorching sky at almost midday, but there are little pools of water where the animals come to drink. Elephants, giraffes, zebras and wildebeests are in plain sight. Off to the right are warthogs, and impalas can be seen behind them in the distance. Look closely to see monkeys, a heron, starlings and other birds in the acacia trees.
