“I paint the colors that I see in landscapes and surroundings,” says Jill Charuk. “The grays and greens of where I live are too cool for me; I pump them up in my paintings. You can still ‘read’ them even though you know that a road isn’t purple.” Charuk’s paintings bring ordinary landscapes and street scenes to life with expressive shapes, vibrant colors and exuberant brushstrokes. |
