These wild American horses are descended from horses left behind by exploring Spaniards in 1519. Until then, the American Indians had never even seen one. It was almost a hundred years later before the tribes started using them in battles and hunting. But by 1800, everyone was using horses. They were hauling supply wagons, cannon for the military and even railroad cars - in addition to being the main method of travel.
The title tells it all. No bad guys, no good guys, no cavalry. Just a pack of wild horses racing across a mountain stream in Montana.
