"Santa's Treat" by Scott Gustafson

SANTA'S TREAT
by Scott Gustafson

Christmas beckons us all to be part of the magic. It is that one time of year we all get to be children again and dream of seeing the silhouettes of Donner and Blitzen dance across the moon in the winter’s night sky. Who has not made sure that an apple or carrot sits with the milk and cookies beside the fireplace on Christmas Eve?

Even Santa knows that without his reindeer, he’s just another guy with souped-up sled. "Santa’s Treat" confirms what we’ve suspected all along, keeping his flight team happy is not something St. Nick leaves to the elves. At the North Pole, the Christmas magic gets fed every day.

They say at Christmas time all roads lead home, so make sure yours is dressed with extra holiday spirit this season by hanging Scott Gustafson’s "Santa’s Treat." Make sure you take look at Scott’s other warm and rich renditions of St. Nick and have a very merry Christmas this year!

About Scott Gustafson

Whether he was to be a cartoonist, animator or an illustrator, Scott Gustafson knew from childhood that he wanted to draw pictures for a living. Once he discovered the artists of the Golden Age of Illustration, his early interest in animated cartoons gave way to trying to learn how to paint. Those renown illustrators opened up a world of dynamic and imaginative images that inspired the young art student and set him on an illustrator’s course.

Gustafson’s paintings have appeared on greeting cards, calendars, collector’s plates, limited edition prints, character designs for the animated TV series Chuggington, as well as on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. But it is the world of illustration and the fun and challenge of telling stories with pictures that continually inspires him. Some of the books he has illustrated are Peter Pan, Classic Fairy Tales and Favorite Nursery Rhymes from Mother Goose, and Classic Bedtime Stories. He has also written and illustrated a novel for young readers entitled Eddie: The Lost Youth of Edgar Allan Poe.

Mr. Gustafson and his wife live in Chicago, and they have a dog, a cat, and a son, but not necessarily in that order.
