Once there, she discovered Felinus avianus and largely retired from social life. Victorian ladies were rarely considered professionals, but Edwina's journals contain a scholarly wealth of information on the tiny species. She was devoted to discovering more and began to travel. Edwina disappeared in the Amazon following a local legend about a black-winged Felinus avianus living solely in the canopy of ebony trees. |
