"U.S.ART" NAMES THOMAS LANGAN'S "BARN DOOR - NO. 1" AS EDITIOR'S CHOICE
"For all the stars and stripes imagery in galleries these days, there's something singularly powerful and pure about The Greenwich Workshop's rought-hewn, canvas recreation of "Barn Door - No. 1" ($695, 550 s/n), the famous folk-style, barn-door rendering of Old Glory by Thomas Langan. To heighten the three-dementional effect, the canvas wraps around one-and-a-half inch thick stretcher bars and comes with wroght-iron rings for hanging. JUNE CAREY'S "FALL VINEYARD" IS EDITOR'S CHOICE IN THE NOVEMBER ISSUE OF "U.S. ART"
"Sometimes it's possible to fall in love with a landscape, even though you have never set foot anywhere near the actual place. Such was the case when I first spotted June Carey's "Fall Vineyard" ($175, 550 s/n), which tells the very particular story of a Napa Valley winery teeming with golden, twisting vines. The wine country of northern California was already on my wish list of places to visit, but Carey's radiant rendering just may send me to a travel agent that much sooner."
- Tracy McCormick, Editor of "U.S. Art" Magazine
