Only five galleries worldwide to host Simon Combes in "Safari USA 2002" Wildlife artist Simon Combes is bringing a major work in progress from his studio in Kenya, Africa to five American galleries as part of his latest adventure: "Safari USA 2002" painting tour. Combes will work on the original 28"x 84" oil painting on canvas in the galleries. Inspired by the urgent need to protect the rapidly dwindling forest habitat of his country Kenya, Combes has set upon this project not only to depict the wildlife of the Aberdare Mountains but also the mysterious beauty of Africa's indigenous vegetation. A very dynamic individual, Combes indicates his goals in life include "gathering no moss" and "helping to bring attention to the beauty of African wildlife, while at the same time bringing awareness to the fragile nature of wildlife in terms of preservation." The galleries will feature a selection of Combes' limited edition fine art prints. The artists' two art/adventure books An African Experience and Great Cats: Stories and Art from a World Traveller will be available for signing. While at our gallery Simon will do a slide presentation on the Aberdare Mountains and his life and art in Kenya. He will also paint a small original oil which will be available for purchase. "Safari USA 2002" is sponsored by The Greenwich Workshop and the participating galleries: to enhance the art experience by bringing a Masterwork in progress to a gallery in your area. The art of Simon Combes is published exclusively by The Greenwich Workshop of Shelton, Connecticut, and is available only through selected galleries. The Greenwich Workshop is the leading publisher of fine art limited editions in North America. |
