In 1972 my father, David P. Usher, had an idea to enrich people's
lives by offering high quality, affordable art. He founded The Greenwich
Workshop in the suburb of Greenwich, Connecticuthence the
company's namein a small storefront office, using just $7,000 charged
to a credit card. Usher's Greenwich Workshop pioneered the concept
of quality signed, limited edition prints-reproductions in every
way faithful to the original works of art.

Usher chose an owl
by artist Fenwick Lansdowne to be published
as his company's first print. It sold
out quickly and the success was marked
by adopting the owl as part of the company's
logo. The Greenwich Workshopand
the lucky owl!came to symbolize
the leading fine art publisher in North
America, attracting the most sought-after
artists, the leading specialty retailers
of fine art, and legions of loyal customers.
Twenty-seven years later, The Greenwich
Workshop continues its tradition of quality,
innovation and inspiration. |
