The Fullness of Time
by June Carey

The first hint of russet leaves on the vines let us know magic is in the air as fall arrives in the Alexander Valley. The warm days and cool nights have matured the grapes to peak perfection. Over one hundred days ago, they first appeared as flowers on the vines; six weeks back, these grapes were green and hard, now they are soft and red. They are bulging with the perfect balance of sugars and acids. Yesterday was too early, tomorrow will be too late. Today is the day, today is harvest day.

In a series, The Fullness of Time would nestle between June’s September Haze and Fall Vineyard. Those long since Sold Out at Publisher editions are among collectors most favored and sought-after of her California vineyard works. The long, horizontal format of the painting emphasizes the hand-manicured rows of vines sweeping across the undulating hills. Crisp highlights underscore the brilliance of West Coast sun.

At 60" x 23", the Greenwich Workshop Museum Edition Giclée Canvas captures the you-are-here impact of June’s massive original painting, though only a few are being offered. A 41" x 16" Masterwork Giclée Canvas has been created as well, sized in keeping with the sister editions of September Haze and Fall Vineyard.  And, for the first time since 2002, we are making a June Carey painting available in a full-sized paper Giclée Edition.

The Fullness of Time
is vintage June Carey and wine country landscape art at its finest. Don’t let this classic pass you by.

Parables
by Jame C. Christensen

“Few of us remember all of Jesus’ parables; it seems each time I read the New Testament, it’s a matter of rediscovery,” said artist James C. Christensen. “I’ll come upon a certain parable and find it has new meaning and relevance to my life. That’s why I thought I would gather several parables together in one image and create an opportunity for viewers to recall and share them. I worked closely with my friend Robert Millet, Professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University, in selecting these twelve and we feel that each conveys a special aspect of Jesus’ teachings. I always hope my work fosters not only contemplation and personal reflection, but also a sharing of experiences. I’d be delighted if this print inspired you to talk about these stories with your children or grandchildren.”

Barely Spring
by Rod Frederick

The black bear, the smallest of the three North American species of bear, actually comes in many colors, ranging from bluish-black to brown. In the past, visitors to national parks sometimes fed the black bears and the animals occasionally frightened a tourist by aggressively approaching them for more food. When left alone in their own habitat, however, black bears are shy and avoid people. Visitors are forbidden to feed them now, so the bears have retreated to the back country where they lead an elusive existence in forests ranging as far north as Alaska and as far south as Mexico.

“I have spotted black bears on many hiking expeditions,” says artist Rod Frederick. “I encountered this full-grown male one day in the lingering snow of early spring in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest. I turned the corner and there he was. Because bears have notoriously bad eyesight, it took a moment before he sensed me. When he did, he turned and ran. Seeing him so close was an exhilarating experience.”

Red Rock Crossing, Northwest Montana, 1850
by Z.S. Liang

These Piegan Blackfeet Warriors are returning to their encampment. As they approach Red Rock Falls they stop to share a story of the Red Rock Crossing passed down from a revered tribal elder. This spectacular vista was protected from development by President Taft in 1910 and is now a jewel of Glacier National Park. The Blackfeet Reservation adjoins the Park and is home to over 8,000 Blackfeet Native Americans.

The majestic 54" x 38" original painting by Z.S. Liang sold at the 2009 Jackson Art Auction at a record price. Only a handful of collectors will hang this historic fine art edition in their home for a fraction of that price. Ask an authorized Greenwich Workshop dealer about availability.

Blackfoot Raiders
by Frank C. McCarthy

A war party is on the move through the high Rockies. The rock formations and landscape are typical of Montana in the area near the Canadian border. A scout has led the way, ahead of the others. The Blackfoot scout often wore a wolf headdress . . . not as a uniform, but rather as a designation of his rank or position. Since the wolf was a hunter and tracker, it was appropriate for the scout to emulate these characteristics through his dress.

Prospectors Among the Blackfeet
by Howard Terpning®

A New York Times article on Western art and the annual Coeur d’Alene Art Auction in 2007 had this to say about the artist: “Howard Terpning just may be the most successful living American artist you’ve never heard of.” The auctioneer Peter Stremmel concurred. “Everyone is after Terpning’s work. They see him as the next Russell or Remington,” (referring to Charles Russell and Frederic Remington, the two most famous Western art painters from the end of the 19th century). Several of Terpning’s paintings had already broken the million dollar mark and his record sale price has climbed since to $1,456,000. Additionally, it’s getting harder to find a serious art collector who doesn’t recognize his name.

“In Prospectors Among the Blackfeet, Blackfeet warriors find evidence of intrusion by white men: a prospector’s gold pan and other debris carelessly left behind in a shallow stream,” says the artist. “The Blackfeet were among the most implacable in their enmity toward white trespassers, first the beaver trappers and later the prospectors. And for good reason. Blackfeet had only to look at their neighbors, the Sioux and Cheyenne, where the discovery of gold in the treaty-protected Black Hills led to the final, crushing military campaigns against them.”

This spectacular MasterWork™ Fine Art Limited Edition, published in a very limited quantity, is your chance to own the masterful craft of Howard Terpning.
